Maybe its down to posture maybe its because you have rounded shoulders and or forward head position. You join me today with Kim originally i wanted to film a seated massage then i saw her shoulders and then had a quick feel of her neck and decided that even though i was created a asmr massage for you the best thing was to tailor this session to what she needed and the best way to do this was to work on the massage table. This is fairly common to how i work if i feel someones shoulders are rounded or they have pain between their shoulders then my first step in to address the front. You see the body acts like a pulley system so if the chest is tight, the SCM (muscles in front of neck) becomes tight pulling the head forward and often the front delts become tight. This then leads to other muscles in the back either becoming tight long as in stretched or tight short as they try to compensate. When i started working on Kim all her neck muscles felt incredibly tight and restricted you can see this early on in the video as i work the neck. By the end of the session this begins to change and her neck muscles soften up and im able to move alot easier. Once the neck muscles have started to soften through massage, pressure point work and stretching i will then move onto working the chest and shoulders, only when im happy with all this i turn over and begin work to loosen up the muscles in the back. You may have noticed i havent added the tag no talking... this is because there is a brief moment where i speak to her to help assist with a neck stretch but its done in a soft voice and the rest is unspoken, Welcome to My channel im Shane known locally as shiatsu Shane and i specialise in shiatsu which is a Japanese style body work designed to work pressure points and meridians to support healing within the body.
