Welcome to another Nature Journey episode where I explore French Creek State Park for the first time, while rambling as I go on an hour long walkabout exploring a lake-side path to bring folks the sights and sounds of the woods to help them relax, study, work, sleep and hopefully induce ASMR (if you're not sure what ASMR is, please read the very bottom of this description). Headphones are recommended for the best possible listening experience as audio was recorded with binaural microphones to capture as realistic and natural a sound as possible for your enjoyment. French Creek State Park http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/StateParks/index.aspx?MobileRedirect=False "Once an industrial complex for the fledgling United State of America, today French Creek State Park is an oasis for people and wildlife. Straddling the Schuylkill Highlands, the 7,730-acre park is the largest block of contiguous forest between Washington D.C. and New York City. The forests, lakes, wetlands and fields are a destination for the people of southeast Pennsylvania to hike, fish, camp and bike." I hope you enjoy! Stay tuned for more nature videos from French Creek, including a non-speaking walkabout. I'm also hoping to visit other State Parks and not just in Pennsylvania. I hope to address that in the future. Don't fault the camera, blame the cameraman! In my subjective view, ASMR is 2 things: a sensation and a medium (like music for example). The sensation itself (ASMR) stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response and is the current (non-scientific) name given to the feeling characterized as a pleasurable tingling sensation felt in the head, scalp, back and other regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, and/or cognitive stimuli, such as crinkling bags, hand movements, whispering and personal attention. ASMR videos, the medium, are not only meant to help induce the sensation or "tingles", but also help provide a relaxing, calming and soothing experience for the viewer while helping to relieve their anxiety, stress, headaches, insomnia, to help those suffering with PTSD or depression, to serve as a study aid and much more. It is quite therapeutic, for both the creator and recipient, not much different than the mediums of music and painting. Many people who do not experience ASMR still enjoy the videos for their calming and sleepy affect.
