I saw these (labelled 'Korean pear') at my local fruit market, bought them, thought they looked (and probably tasted like) nashi pears, filmed, confirmed it tasted like a nashi pear, Googled it to write the commentary for the video and discovered that it IS a nashi pear, haha. Basically, these are 'pyrus pyrifolia' or 'Asian pear' - a species of pear native to East Asia known by many names, including: Chinese pear, Korean pear, Japanese pear, Taiwanese pear, zodiac pear, and sand pear. The official name on the packaging of the pears I bought is 'Singo Pear' - and they are HUGE! Also very sweet. As always, thank you for watching. ❤️
