Here is the military technique for falling asleep. It’s not 100% science, but many people feel it helps them tremendously. 1. Relax your face: Start with your forehead, then your eyes, cheeks, and jaw. 2. Drop your shoulders: Let your shoulders drop as low as they'll go. 3. Relax your arms: Let your arms fall to your sides, keeping your hands and fingers loose. 4. Relax your chest: Inhale and exhale slowly and deeply to relax your chest. 5. Relax your legs: Starting with your thighs, relax your legs, calves, ankles, and feet. 6. Clear your mind: Visualize a calming scene or repeat "don't think" to yourself for 10 seconds. 7. Fall asleep: Once you've relaxed your body and cleared your mind, you should be able to fall asleep.
