Today’s ASMR battle is a nostalgia trip and a sound test rolled into one: Xbox 360 (Tomb Raider) versus Xbox Series X (GTA 5). Even though both are plastic game cases, the sound signatures are wildly different — the older 360 shell has that lightweight, hollow rattle, while the Series X case is thicker, deeper, and more modern-sounding. In this short, I switch back and forth between both cases for pure contrast: • Fast tapping on the 360 vs tapping on the Series X • Gentle shaking tests for the rattle and internal acoustics • Opening both cases, capturing that snap, flex and hinge sound • Tapping the discs inside, which surprisingly have two distinct tones Recorded on a white studio desk with my Rode NT1 for crisp, raw sound and blue latex gloves to minimise handling noise. Clean visuals, no talking — just pure gaming ASMR.
