ASMR stands for “Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response.” You know that pleasant sensation or tingling that's typically felt on the scalp caused by some stimulus, such as hearing a soft voice, the sound of rain, watching slow (or fast) hand movements, or when someone is drawing something and you feel extremely relaxed? That's ASMR! ⚠️ But it's important to remember that this “therapy” is not a substitute for specialized care. ⚠️ This technique should be avoided by those who suffer from misophonia or similar problems, in which sounds such as chewing, swallowing, or whispering cause increased agitation and anxiety.
