Wild Children (ASMR Stories About Feral Children)

In this soft spoken talk, I tell you about several true stories of feral children, such as Marcos Rodriguez, Marie-Angélique le Blanc and Victor de l'Aveyron, who survived alone for years in the wilderness. Some of them befriended wild animals, others resisted them. Their returns to society was always complicated and had different outcomes. I also tell you about other stories of children who would have grown up in seclusion, some controversial like the case of Kaspar Hauser, some that were exposed as hoaxes like Amala and Kamala in India in the 1920's, and also mythical or fictional feral children (Romulus and Remus, Mowgli, Tarzan...). Even though each of these destinies is unique and there are not enough occurences to draw general conclusions, they raise many questions about cognitive development, interspecies communication, or what is innate and what is acquired in humans.
