Welcome to the Cozy Hospital! You've come into our surgery center today because you have tonsillitis and your doctor has decided you need your tonsils removed. The anesthesiologist will get you prepared for surgery and count you down. Then the surgeon will remove your tonsils using electrocautery (no scalpel or needles!). After surgery is over and you wake up, one of the nurses will examine you and make sure you are comfortable. *Sorry for not wearing loupes for this one; because of the overhead light, it was actually really hard to see and the loupes kept fogging which made it even more difficult so I scrapped them. 😝 0:00 Intro 0:08 Anesthesiologist putting on gloves 0:42 Taking deep breaths to center 1:19 Nurse comes in, pulling your hair back and into a cap 1:44 Getting you hooked up to the monitor; blood pressure cuff 6:20 Placing mask over your face, count down 7:39 Scrub nurse unwrapping instruments and lying you down flat 10:02 Anesthesiologist intubates you for surgery 12:05 Surgery; cautery (scratching), suction, metal clipping sounds 25:17 Waking up from surgery, nurse is charting your vitals 26:07 Giving you ice water 26:50 Pen light eye exam 27:52 Face touching to check skin temperature 28:26 Listening to your chest, heart beat 29:07 Checking your pain level with communication cards 31:53 Throat exam 32:53 Checking your IV site 33:35 Otoscope ear exam 35:40 Nerve exam reflex test 36:47 More ice water 37:32 Sensation testing with pinwheel 40:58 Cleaning your face 42:46 More ice water 43:14 Wrapping a bandage around your IV site 45:01 Writing in your chart, page turning Please be aware that this video is intended for entertainment, relaxation and ASMR purposes. It is not meant to diagnose, treat, educate or accurately depict issues or illnesses or procedures. Many of the procedures are altered for ASMR purposes and because I'm not filming in an actual medical facility. (Some of them are completely fictional they just involve neat sounds.) Please consult your doctor or a reputable health care source if you have any health questions or concerns. ______________ What is ASMR? ASMR is a tingling sensation often felt on the scalp, neck, shoulders and back, although you may feel tingles in other places as well! ASMR is triggered by different types of stimuli. It can be personal attention, gentle touch, hand movements, crinkling, tapping sounds... there are lots of different types of ASMR triggers and everyone is different when it comes to what triggers their ASMR!
