Over the last few months, I've seen a lot of #ASMR videos thumbnails from different artists showing the $10,000 KU100 dummy head from Neumann. I had myself created a very expensive binaural head at the beginning of this channel using a parcel box. But after seeing that dummy head everywhere recently, I did some more researches about binaural sounds, binaural heads, the principle behind it and more. I decided to make a few binaural heads starting from the less expensive. Today, I introduce you Sergeant Paper. You should understand why I gave him this name. It took a day to make it. You might wondering why? Because I decided to go the hard way, or rather the way I can learn something. So I ordered some mics capsules, cable and other stuff and started with the soldering process. I hadn't soldered in years. It was a lot of fun even though I was tired at the end of the day. But I still wanted to proceed and make a test using some asmr triggers, whispering sure, but also soft spoken, tapping, liquid sounds. But more than that, things directly on the head or on the ears. And even more than that, I think that this kind of mic is even better when you can notice the space around you. So I also walked around a little. A note about the sound: there are a lot of interference in the room where I take my videos, especially when I use the "power plug" cable/mics. With XLR mics, it's OK most of the time. So you might here some high pitched sounds sometimes. That's very strange. If I go outside, no more interference. In another house, no interference. I'm not lucky, haha. Anyway, this was a test. Hopefully the second binaural head I'll make later will me better than this one.
