Leonardo da Vinci was an Italian Renaissance polymath: painter, sculptor, architect, musician, scientist, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, geologist, cartographer, botanist, and writer. His genius, perhaps more than that of any other figure, epitomized the Renaissance humanist ideal. Leonardo has often been described as the archetype of the Renaissance Man, a man of "unquenchable curiosity" and "feverishly inventive imagination The scope and depth of his interests were without precedent and "his mind and personality seem to us superhuman, the man himself mysterious and remote. Leonardo died in 1519, but toward the end of this video I accidentally say 1919 so forgive me please.:) Relax as I build a small scale model of one of Leonardo's catapult designs. Leonardo Da Vinci did not invent the catapult, but rather improved upon a design used hundreds of years earlier. During the building process, I'll give you some background history on da Vinci, some of which I already knew, and thanks to some casual research on the web, some things I didn't. This video is not a review of any kind, nor is it meant to be a formal, factual history lesson. This video is meant to be a relaxation video and nothing more. So put on some headphones or ear-buds and relax.
