A relaxing, laid back discussion and analysis of the 2016 film Moonlight, winner of the 2017 Best Picture Award (as an LGBTI film and with an all African-American cast, no less), and one of the most honest, bold and beautiful works of cinema ever made (in my opinion). I go over the story (spoilers), share my thoughts, discuss & analyze certain memorable scenes, and even touch on related topics such as bullying and the LGBTI community. Moonlight: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moonlight_(2016_film) Because this video was originally meant to be a discussion on 4 films (the other three being Midnight Special, Saint Vincent and Captain Fantastic), I was only prepared to discuss Moonlight for about 15 minutes. Therefore, this is not as complete of a discussion and analysis of every aspect of the film as I would have liked or you might expect from such a long video. If I missed discussing didn't other poignant moments or aspects of the film, it's because I wasn't prepared beforehand to talk solely about this film for an hour. As for those 3 other films, perhaps including What We Do in the Shadows, they will be discussed in another video about 2 weeks from this one. There are more films I hope to discuss in future videos including 99 Homes, The Room, Get Out, Alien: Covenant and more. It is both a sensation and a medium. ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response and is the current, non-scientific name given to the feeling characterized as a pleasurable tingling sensation felt in the head, scalp, back and other regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, and/or cognitive stimuli, such as crinkling bags, hand movements, whispering, personal attention or watching someone perform a task. It's like goosebumps, but much more pleasant. ASMR videos are meant to intentionally help induce this sensation, also referred to as "tingles", but also provide a relaxing, calming, soothing, therapeutic and even entertaining experience for the viewer. Many people who do not experience ASMR still enjoy the videos for their calming and sleepy effect.
