Hello everyone. This video is a little different and very special to me. If you follow me on Twitter then you may already know that last week a friend of mine that I have known for many years, graduated with, and was in choir with passed away. He was 25 years old. His death was extremely unexpected and it has been very difficult for me to deal with. We were not close by any means, but I've known him and have called him my friend for years. Since 6th grade. We were founding members of the special choir at our old middle school that we created in 8th grade. We were in Chamber Choir and Show Choir together. We even took voice lessons together our junior year of high school. He was extremely smart, funny, and talented and his death is just a kick in the gut. He had so much to offer to people and I hate to think about what he won't get to experience now because he's gone. At my school, when we were in choir together, we became a family. Especially those of us who were in choir together since 8th grade or earlier. His visitation and funeral were earlier this week and a bunch of us choir kids and our instructors got together and sang at his funeral. I normally don't cry, but I did. Even after going through all of it I still don't feel like it's real. I hadn't talked to him in a long time and now I'll never get the chance to again. I had the opportunity to see him before he passed, but my friend and I gave excuses as to why we couldn't for that night and now we will forever berate ourselves over it. Unfortunately, this is not the first person that I have graduated with and was in choir with to pass away. About three years ago, a girl that I had also grown up with and had been in choir with for years had left us. Hers was less unexpected because she had an illness, but it was still heartbreaking nonetheless. So, as I wrap this up, I urge all of you to tell the ones that you love, that you love them. Talk to those that you haven't talked to in awhile. Make sure that everyone knows how you feel about them because you may never know when their day or even your day will be the last. Rest in Peace, friend. We love you and miss you.
