Unlike my previous videos, this will be a fairly businesslike announcement, but there are two things I want to talk about. Channel name change First is a change to the channel name. I actually planned to do it right after we passed 5,000 subscribers, sometime in October, but I couldn't secure the time to make the change. I should be able to find time this month, so I'll go ahead and change the channel name. I have a favor to ask: if you haven't subscribed and you usually search for my videos by channel name, please subscribe now. If the channel name changes, searching the old name might not bring it up, so if you plan to keep listening, please subscribe at this time. By the way, the reason I'm changing the channel name is that the current name is hard to read and gives a vague impression. After the change, the name should make it clearer when people should come to this channel, so please look forward to it. That’s the first point. X account Second is about an X (formerly Twitter) account. I plan to open an X account around the same time as the channel name change. One reason is that I don't know when this channel might disappear; it wouldn't be surprising if the channel were deleted tomorrow. If that happens, we'd lose the place to talk to each other, and we'd be completely cut off with no way to contact one another. The X account would serve as a backup for emergencies. Another reason is that, despite saying we'd lose a place to talk, I haven't been able to reply to comments for a few months. I'm really sorry. Partly it's because I couldn't keep up, but another reason is that YouTube comments—especially replies to comments—are hard for creators to filter. You can do it to some extent, but you can't filter to see whether the most recent reply was from me or from a viewer. Because of that, I feel YouTube isn't well suited for conversation, so I'd like to talk with you on X from now on. As for how I'll use the X account: first, to interact with you; second, to post emergency notices. At this stage I haven't decided on any other clear uses. I probably won't use it much for video announcements, but I might post important notices that aren't emergencies. The main purpose is to interact with you, so please feel free to follow. One caveat: I can be pretty harsh. When I post what I'm thinking on X, some people might get hurt. So if you're very sensitive or you have an idealized image of me and don't want that image shattered, this might not be for you. If you're okay with that, please follow.
