Let's take a big breath. Sigh it out. Today we're going to do some breath work together and take one breath at a time. The practice of breath work has wonderful benefits. We can use the breath to help to wind us down and to feel more relaxed. I did not originate any of these breathing techniques. They have been practice by many before me. 1) breathing in for x counts and breathing out for 2x counts (example in for 2 and our for 4 beats) 2) "box breathing". Breathing in for 4 beats. Hold for 4 beats. Breathe out for 4 beats. Hold for 4 beats. Repeat. 3) Ujjayi Breath - I believe "Ujjayi" is a Sanskrit word. The Ujjayi breathing technique is often used in Yoga. Breathe in through the nose and breath out out through the nose. On the exhale, breath sounds are produced stemming from the throat. 4) Inhale as long as comfortable. Hold as long as comfortable.
