This is a preview of the work-in-progress ASMR short film titled "Lotus and the Devil" which is a collaboration between Kelly Whispers and Ephemeral Rift, and is based on a true story of living with anxiety. A story, we think which many can relate to, and one in which we hope can provide inspiration and hope. In the U.S. alone, approximately 26% of the population (82 million people as of 2012, per the NIMH website) suffers from mental health disorders such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, dissociation, and more. The stigma of mental illness, and the discrimination endured by many, have long been major barriers to people faced with these challenges. Within the ASMR community that we are proud to be a part of, we are happy to see how open minded and accepting people have been from viewers to content creators alike, and are starting to see more and more people open up and embrace one another in an effort to cope and provide support. Stay tuned for the final film to be released on both of our channels in 2014. Kelly Whispers: / @kellywhispersasmr Ephemeral Rift: / ephemeralrift
