This video is for you if a friend or a member of your family is suffering from a mental health problem. In the video I will share 6 tips to help you to help them. Watching someone you care about suffer is extremely difficult, especially if you do not know how to help them. Hopefully in the video I will be able to point you in the right direction. My tips are as follows: 1. Inform yourself Knowledge is power and it will give you a better understanding which will in turn put you in a stronger position to help and support. 2. Find out your person’s particular experience Everyone’s experience of mental health is different, you need to know the specifics of your friend of family members experience to properly help. 3. How to start a conversation This is tricky, so I will suggest some openers in the video 4. Allow your person to find their own way into treatment 5. Get support for yourself 6. Understand feeling of anger and frustration.
