Hand crafted recipes developed and used for almost a hundred years at Antica Barbieria Colla ✨ This traditional barbershop was established in 1904 and has been in its current location since 1944. The original shop was bombed beyond repair during WW2. To this day the shop reflects a lost Milan reminiscent of the 1940s. It had been owned and run by Francesco Bompieri, better known as Franco, since 1965, but he had worked in the shop since 1960. Franco was known for his two passions: cutting hair and writing books! Over the years, several books written by Franco have been published in Italy 📚 Inside the shop across the walls you can see Franco was pretty active in the literary and cinematic world. You will find many photos of Franco with movie stars 🎩 A few years ago Franco transitioned into retirement, and his daughter, Francesca Bompieri, took over the family business. Preservation of the shop and rebranding of product lines to fully embody the elegance and style of Milan’s oldest barbershop was her focus. She wanted to allow customers to feel the Antica Barbieria Colla experience at home. Inside the barbershop, the gentle sound of scissors cutting hair and shaving sounds are the music💈✂️ Hot towel shave with Alberto Diforti who hails from Caltanissetta in the Sicilian hinterland. Alberto became a barber at a very young age and has now been barbering for 24 years. What he loves the most about his work is when customers sit in his chair, completely trusting and relying on him and his hands.
