When it comes to seasons of shadow work or sensitivity, talking to a therapist is immensely helpful as well as keeping track of your mood! But I didn't mention this to avoid sounding like a broken record. Overall there are so many elements that contribute to feelings of otherness, shame, and smallness that may not even have to do with deep rooted trauma but the daily societal conditioning we receive. After getting to the root of the issue it feels best to handle things in the present moment rather than attaching to the story. What can you do to empower yourself more? How can you feel more in love with yourself and life? These are the questions I ask myself. And more often than not its the tiny moments of presence and affirmation with myself that bring me back home. I know it may seem silly having a conversation about being awkward or shy over clips of me and my friends but it just goes to show that even when everything outside seems perfect, old thought patterns can continue lingering.
