Carlquest, also known as Kindquest, is the titular main protagonist of the Invincible "What If..." scenario of the same name. He is a very old and retired Viltrumite who, after arriving on Earth, decided to become a fisherman instead of the violent gladiator he once was. As one of the most powerful figures in the Viltrum Empire, Conquest was a high-ranking veteran warrior. Approximately dedicated to its mission of universal domination, he served as the Viltrumites’ fundamental "nuclear option," deployed only when maximum force and absolute ruthlessness were deemed necessary. As instructed, Conquest went on a mission to determine whether Invincible had fulfilled his duty on Earth. However, he was ultimately defeated by him and imprisoned by the Global Defense Agency. Upon recovery, Conquest fled back to his superiors to face the consequences of his failure. Thragg spared Conquest's life, giving him a final chance at redemption by hunting down the traitors: Nolan and his son, Invincible. At the peak of the Viltrumite War, he was finally felled by Invincible in their final battle, before being given a proper burial by Nolan.
