Today we're looking at an Eastern branch of the Indo-European languages: the Iranian family. Persian has been mentioned a couple of times in other contexts, as it has had a huge influence on Turkish and Arabic, for example, so it's about time we dedicated an entire video to it. We'll start with some history, have a look at different alphabets and then at the areas where the most common Iranian languages are spoken today. And a little note because I said I can't tell you much about Balochi: It's not because it isn't an interesting language, but the sources I used didn't provide much info.
