This "symphony of relaxation" includes a variety of triggers and objects such as paper cups, cactus rainstick, match sticks, hand movements and more, with humming and whispered glossolalia throughout. I thought I'd have fun with an idea I've had for years about how I might go about performing ASMR in a public venue. There was a tech issue after the up close and personal moment at around the 32 minute mark which resulted in the remaining footage being out of focus. Luckily, you're really not missing much. Just pretend you're in a dream state. All my best, E.R. You can support my work on Patreon ► http://bit.ly/1EZgmNi Available soon! To me, ASMR is 2 things: a sensation and a medium (like music for example). The sensation itself (ASMR) stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response and is the current (non-scientific) name given to the feeling characterized as a pleasurable tingling sensation felt in the head, scalp, back and other regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, and/or cognitive stimuli, such as crinkling bags, hand movements, whispering and personal attention. ASMR videos, the medium, are not only meant to help induce the sensation or "tingles", but also help provide a relaxing, calming and soothing experience for the viewer while helping to relieve their anxiety, stress, headaches, insomnia, to help those suffering with PTSD or depression, to serve as a study aid and much more. It is quite therapeutic, for both the creator and recipient, not much different than the mediums of music and painting. Many people who do not experience ASMR still enjoy the videos for their calming and sleepy affect.
