Hello my friends! I'm getting back to my roots in this video designed to help with anxiety, panic, and derealization. This video is dedicated to grounding techniques which help to combat anxiety by connecting us to the present moment and our physical bodies. These grounding techniques will incorporate using all five senses: sight/vision, hearing, touch, taste, and smell. As always, my videos are not intended to be therapy. They are for entertainment/relaxation purposes only. Although I am a licensed mental health counselor and the techniques used in this video are real empirically validated techniques, it is important to acknowledge the limitations of a platform like YouTube. Therapy inherently requires the ability to have a back-and-forth conversation between therapist and client. If you feel you are struggling with your mental health, please reach out to your primary care provider or if you want to seek out a therapist, please check out the link to Psychology Today's Find a Therapist tool. To listen while using other apps, switch the player to Picture-in-Picture (PiP) during playback — it keeps playing in a small floating window (the screen stays on).
To listen with the screen fully off, in-browser playback stops by YouTube's design. Open the video in the YouTube app to keep listening where background playback is supported (e.g. with YouTube Premium).
