Fun fact of the day: The first modern game controller ever made was the Nintendo Famicom controller from 1983!! Before that, most video game controllers were giant joysticks, strange number pads or weird plastic boxes covered in buttons and knobs!! The idea of a small handheld controller that you could comfortably use with both hands was something extremely futuristic for the time!! The controller itself was very simple!! It had a directional pad, two action buttons, a start button and a select button!! That was pretty much it!! There was one issue with this design though. Since the controller was so small and rectangular, many people complained that the sharp edges would dig into your hands during long gaming sessions!! Which honestly sounds pretty painful!! Unfortunately, the controller was not perfect, but it proved that this style of design was the future of gaming!! In the years that followed, companies like Sega, Sony and Microsoft started building upon Nintendo’s original idea by adding more comfortable shapes, analog sticks and extra buttons!! As a result, giving birth to the modern controllers that millions of people still use today!!
To listen while using other apps, switch the player to Picture-in-Picture (PiP) during playback — it keeps playing in a small floating window (the screen stays on).
To listen with the screen fully off, in-browser playback stops by YouTube's design. Open the video in the YouTube app to keep listening where background playback is supported (e.g. with YouTube Premium).
