It was a still, calm, quiet night in the neighborhood. At around 11PM, I setup a lantern on a small wood stool, my camera, and binaural (in-ear) microphones attached to a styrofoam head. I then recorded the next 2 hours (prior to editing), capturing the ambient sounds in our backyard as well as everything else in the area. I was not outside / off-camera during this recording. There's not much to SEE except for the occasional moth. I was hoping we might get a guest appearance by a fox, raccoon or anything, but sadly that was not the case. However, there is plenty to HEAR: - crickets & katydids - distant traffic and nearby passing cars (EQ'd the best I could) - unknown critters (mouse? owl? fox? raccoon? bird?) occasionally scurrying about in the nearby bushes and dried leaves - occasionally what sounds like Canadian Geese? - the Great Horned Owl shows up again ( original video here: https://youtu.be/gUL7ADuLE_Y ) which makes me think it's taken up permanent residence in the area I hope this helps you relax, sleep and maybe even experience ASMR! 00:00:00 Backyard ambience 00:26:07 Great Horned Owl is really close! 00:30:22 Backyard ambience Channel Playlists: https://www.youtube.com/c/EphemeralRift/playlists?view=1&sort=lad&flow=grid Website ► https://ephemeralrift.com Instagram ► https://www.instagram.com/ephemeral.rift/ Twitter ► https://twitter.com/ephemeralrift1 Flickr ► https://www.flickr.com/photos/ephemeralrift/ Listen to select audio works outside of YouTube: Spotify ► https://open.spotify.com/artist/6WJUD0ljiIwxmbEzpb4onm iTunes ► https://music.apple.com/us/artist/ephemeral-rift/602599265 Patreon ► https://www.patreon.com/ephemeralrift
