Perched almost 1,000 feet above Paris, this cozy, private space was where he entertained distinguished guests like Thomas Edison, conducted scientific experiments, and enjoyed unparalleled solitude. It was furnished with wallpaper, oil paintings, and even a piano, starkly contrasting the tower's industrial ironwork. It was highly coveted by Parisian elites who offered huge sums to rent it, but Eiffel famously refused them all. Today, visitors can peek into the restored apartment through a glass window.
