Before the Assam village wakes, Biren goes to the river. The mist is still on the water. He crouches at the bamboo fish trap he set the night before. Two small silver fish inside. He lifts the trap — the water streams from every gap in the bamboo weave in thin rivulets. The fish catch the morning light. Back at the bamboo house on stilts, Meghali is already on the veranda. Together they gather ou tenga from the garden — the sour elephant apple — and tomatoes, and mustard seeds. He cleans the fish on a banana leaf. She cuts the ou tenga open. The sour smell makes her head tilt slightly back. He drapes his gamosa on the veranda railing. It will dry there in the morning sun. They cook the Masor Tenga — Assamese sour fish curry. Mustard seeds pop in mustard oil. The fish go in, golden with turmeric. The tomatoes and ou tenga follow — the sour steam rises. The bamboo steamer makes the rice. They eat on the veranda as the mist completely lifts and the river comes into full morning light. They look at the river as they eat. They have looked at this same river every morning for many years. They do not need to say anything about it. The gamosa moves in the morning breeze. 🐟 What you will hear: • A bamboo fish trap lifted from the river — water streaming from every gap in the weave • Mustard seeds popping in hot mustard oil • A bamboo steamer lid removed — the hollow steam release • An ou tenga cut open — and the silence after the sour smell arrives • The Brahmaputra river, all morning, under everything 🌿 Miniature Assam river village | Masor Tenga ASMR | No talking 📌 Shot in miniature doll scale using Google Flow Veo 3.1.
