It refers to a pleasurable sensory-auditory sensation designed to relax you. At its peak, this relaxation manifests as tingling or prickling sensations that travel from the brain to other parts of the body. (In my case, it's at the back of my head and neck.) This pleasure is triggered by sounds, noises, the timbre of voices, and movements. Please note that not everyone is "receptive" to ASMR, and for those who are fortunate enough to be receptive, know that there are a multitude of triggers that vary from person to person. Some sounds will do nothing for you, or may even irritate you, while for others, these sounds will be relaxing. I want to emphasize that ASMR is not sexual in any way!!
