It's a similar feeling to 'Frisson' - the shivers that run up your spine when watching an incredible scene in a film, or really /feeling/ amazing music. ASMR now also refers to a genre of content whereby creators/'ASMRtists' intend to invoke these 'tingles' in others. Even if you don't experience ASMR - many don't - you might still find this content calming, relaxing, or useful for getting to sleep. Heck, even entertaining, god forbid.
To listen while using other apps, switch the player to Picture-in-Picture (PiP) during playback — it keeps playing in a small floating window (the screen stays on).
To listen with the screen fully off, in-browser playback stops by YouTube's design. Open the video in the YouTube app to keep listening where background playback is supported (e.g. with YouTube Premium).
